What is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports eligible Australians who are living with a permanent or significant disability. The NDIS allows people with a disability greater access to and control over the support and care that they receive. For more information please visit the NDIS website.

Who is Care Factor South East?We are an NDIS provider. We support Australians living with a disability in Melbourne’s South East to put their care plan into action. We specialise in care services such as community access, personal care, home care and meal prep. You can read more about our story here.

Where are you located / Which areas do you service?We service South East Melbourne and surrounds.

Will I see the same carer regularly or will it be a different carer each time?Here at Care Factor, we strive for consistency of care. We work with you to find the perfect carer that suits your needs and has some common ground, whether that be hobbies or similar interests. This allows our carers to create strong connections and enables them to give the best support and care possible.

What services do you provide?At Care Factor we help NDIS participants put their NDIS care plan into action, offering customised support services for you or your loved one. Our services include community access, personal care, home care and meal prep services. We also offer support for overnight stays and day trips. Can I use my aged care package with Care Factor?At present, we do not offer assistance with aged care plans.

What does Care Factor do to ensure trust and safety?Our carers/support staff are all fully qualified. We do our best to match our carers to create genuine connections and provide the best support for our clients. All of our carers have completed the COVID19 Infection Prevention and Control Certificate and follow Covid19 safe protocols. We always keep up to date with current COVID19 government rules and regulations and train our carers to ensure all shared areas are clean and safe.

Do you offer nursing or medical care?We do have one carer who is a registered nurse and also qualified in disability, however, this is not our primary service of care. Contact us here for more information.

Do you work with children?Yes. We love working with children! All of our carers are fully qualified including a comprehensive police and background check and a working with children’s check to work with people under the age of 18.

Do you offer transport and how much does this cost?Clients are welcome and insured to travel in our carers' cars. Alternatively, the carer can accompany the client in a taxi. Clients may be able to get taxi vouchers or half-price taxi cards for taxi travel via signing some forms with their regular doctor.

Who pays for additional expenses? (ie. tickets, entrance fees etc)Activities are planned in line with your allocated budget from the NDIS. As per normal, many additional carer expenses are covered under the client’s companion card.

My client would like to have independence in organising their own support. Can you assist with this?We love helping Australian’s maintain their independence where possible and would love to help them arrange their own support. Please contact us for further information.

How do I organise a meet and greet for my client?Our meet and greets are designed to make sure that our carer is the right match for your client. We tailor our meet and greets individually for each client, depending on their circumstances. They can be arranged in the home or out in the community. How do I get started for my client?To arrange a carer for your client, please give our friendly team a call, or send us an email. We would be happy to talk through the process with you and match them with one of our wonderful carers.
